Homemade Chapstick

Currently experimenting with the best way to make my own chapstick. Sometimes I use more or less beeswax and of course I’d love to make a vegan option one day. But here is what I have been doing so far:

Dropper

Emmy chapstick tubes

2 Tablespoons of Shea Butter

1 1/2 Tablespoons of Beeswax

2 1/2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil

5-7 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil (optional)

3-5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil (optional)

2 Dropper full of Rosemary Extract

6-8 drops of Palmarosa Essential Oil

Melt shea butter, beeswax and coconut oil in a double boiler until beeswax is no longer solid. Stir ingredients into smooth mixture. Turn off heat and add oils and extract to mix. Mix thoroughly. Use dropper to place mixture into chapstick tubes.

Let sit for a few minutes before covering tubes and carefully place upright in refrigerator. They should be settled and hardened properly in 20-30 minutes.

These can be stored at room temperature or kept in the refrigerator to be used in the morning or at night for to moisturize and cool your lips.
